What does your child think about 'literacy'?........ It CAN be magical and it CAN be accessed and loved by ALL!..... Yoga can be a route into literacy helping to;

Physically strengthen;

♡ gross & fine motor muscles for mark-making and writing

♡ coordination

♡ the ability to move in a controlled and smooth way

Emotionally build;

☆ confidence to explore and express ideas through experiencing positive achievement

♡ calm focus, allowing for clear thought rather than a blank, panic of 'I can't'

Mentally exercise and strengthen;

♡ bilateral brain communication (right & left side brain coms..... really important for building literacy skills)

♡ learning new ways to think about literacy rules through yoga

All of this and more can be achieved at home and in the classroom through yoga.

Here is what we will cover in the Yoga For Literacy Workshop;

- Fun and easy relaxation breathe to clear and calm the body & mind

- Short Rhyming Yoga Sequence targeting the physical aspects of literacy (gross & fine motor strength) as well as the mental (through rhyming sequences)

- Parent & child working together to create their own short yoga story using in class resources to help

- Relaxation & plenary
