The classes have been designed with love, to encourage parents and infants to explore and engage with Yoga, fun and relaxation together.
During the 45min session (9:45 - 10:30) there is time for you to arrive and get yourselves settled before we explore; our session.
Many people are frightened of the Toddler age. Frightened to teach a class to this age group and/or worried to take their toddler along to a class at this age. Before you attend any toddler class take the pressure off both of you by reminding yourself that #lovenotcontrol will help you. You can not 'control' your toddler you can guide and love them to explore the world safely.
This class is a safe place with no judgment just Yoga. Yes your toddler may wonder off for a walk around the room mid session, desiced they neeeeeeeeed a drink or snack, decide that jumping is the only thing their body is capable of hahahahah. These are all normal and totally acceptable, how we react to this will determine how you and they feel upon leaving the class.
Before you join me for your first Toddler Yoga i will send you some info to read to help reasure you if you have any nerves about attending (please do get in touch if you fancy a chat about it).
It is really important that toddlers and young children experience consistency and routine. So the structure of the class will be as listed below. The variable each week will be the story and some of te asanas that we explore. However into each story adventure we will revisit asanas from the previouse week to help us to feel that we are safe, we are achieving and improving. Helping Toddlers to feel safe and positivley empowered comes from them being able to achieve and predict what is going to happen next.
During a class we will cover
● Toddler Yoga Breathing
Exploring different resources & games to help us become aware of our breath
● Silly Silence
Movement & games that encourage being silent . This helps children to explore what quiet is in a fun way.
● Playful Movement
Warm up our body’s and explore how they move and feel. Engaging with how we like to move through games, songs and little challenges
● Story Yoga
Using the magic of story we will go on a yoga journey together.
● Sensory Relaxation
Learning and practising ways to help our bodies and minds to relax
(Some of these elements may change and evolve as the session unfolds).
These classes will be term time only and booked in half termly blocks.
